Welcome To Astro Video Cameras
Launching product and services in summer 2022
Two of the most popular webcams used in
astrophotography, Logitech Pro 4000 and Philips SPC900NC are becoming old
technology, but surprisingly still in demand because of the lack of
affordable alternatives. They were unique as they used CCD sensors and they
could also be modified to take long exposures.
For many years before the
webcam, low-light video security cameras were used by the
Amateur Astronomer
for observing the Moon and Planets. Technology has moved on and now video
can be easily captured by a USB device and stored on hard discs. This option
for the astrophotographer has made video become more affordable.
The
Starlight Astro Video Camera (SAVC)
has a better
specification than the Sony SCB2000
and more advantages
over the standard Logitech Pro 4000 and Philips SPC900NC webcam with a long
exposure of 20 seconds........................................................................................................
Starlight Astro Video Camera
It was just a matter of time before peering down into an optical eyepiece and adjusting the focus with freezing fingers, the eyepiece would be replaced with an ultra sensitive Astronomy Video Camera that can be capable of live DSO viewing. Armchair Astronomy is getting closer!!
